Sections you can add
Every kind of section a page can have, what each one is good for, and where to learn more.
Every page is a stack of sections. To add one, open a page, click Add a section at the bottom of its sections (or Add section below under an open section), and pick one. It arrives with sample text for you to replace. See Edit text and photos.
Here's every kind of section, grouped by what it's for. Every section also has a Background and a Pattern, and sections with a heading can change its size and color, under Background and style at the bottom of its form; see Edit text and photos.
Open a page
- Hero: the big opening banner at the top of your home page, with a Headline, Supporting text, a Main button and an optional Second button. Its Layout puts them over or beside a photo, beside a collage of three photos, over a photo slideshow or a background video, or on their own. See Edit text and photos and Add a video. With a photo beside or under the words, or a collage, Show the whole picture keeps a chart or flyer from being cropped.
- Page header: a title band for your other pages, with a Small line above title, the Page title, an Intro and an optional Background photo.
Say what you do
- Services: what you offer, as cards, rows, alternating rows, a simple list or a carousel. Each service has a Name, Description, Photo and an optional Link; turn off Show photos for words only, or turn on Show whole photos so charts and flyers aren't cropped.
- Photo + text: a story block with a photo on one side and words on the other. It can add a Checklist of short points and a Button, and Photo position puts the photo on the Left or Right. Turn on Show the whole picture for a chart, a flyer or a picture with words in it, so none of it is cropped.
- How it works: numbered Steps that explain your process, like "Call us, we visit, we quote, we build". Each step has a title and a Description.
- Packages: plans or packages side by side, each with a Name, Price, Price note, Description, What’s included and a Button. Turn on Highlight as most popular for the one you'd recommend, and add Fine print under them all.
- Price list / menu: grouped items with prices, like a food menu or a list of services. Each group has a Group name and an optional Group note, like "Served 7–11am". Each item has a Name, Price, Description, Time it takes and Tags (like V or GF, explained in What the tags mean), and Mark as popular flags a favorite. Add Fine print, and a Prices last updated date so customers know the prices are current. Several groups get jump links. You can fill it in from a photo or PDF of your menu with Fill in from a photo or PDF; see Fill in a menu from a photo or PDF. Visitors can share it with its Share button (turn off Show a Share button to hide it), and QR code for this list, below its fields, prints a code for your tables or window; see Share your menu and print its QR code.
- Text: plain paragraphs, good for policies or a longer story. Leave a blank line between paragraphs, and start one with
##for a subheading. - Animated words: one big line of words that moves, like in a video ad, with 30 effects: changing words that roll, retype or flip, words that fly in, drop or light up, letters that type out or decode, circled or highlighted words, a price drop, neon, sticker labels, ribbons and more. See Make a headline move below.
Build trust
- Highlights: a row of up to four quick facts or numbers, each with Big text and Small text, like "15+" and "Years in business". Turn on Count up the numbers as visitors scroll for a bit of motion.
- Reviews: quotes from your Reviews list. See Reviews.
- Badges & logos: certifications, awards, partners or "as seen in" logos. Each Badge has a Name and an optional Logo image (a transparent PNG or SVG works best); without an image, the name is shown as text.
- Team: photos and short bios from your Team list. See Your team.
- Projects: before-and-after photos of your work, each with its own page. See Projects.
- Gallery: a grid of photos of your work, your space or your products, each with an optional Caption. Open photos larger when clicked lets visitors page through them full screen, and Show whole photos keeps charts and flyers from being cropped.
Show what's coming up
- Events: upcoming events from your Events list. See Events.
- News: your latest posts. See News posts.
- Job openings: open positions, each with its own page. See Job openings.
- FAQ: common questions with answers that open when clicked. See Your FAQ list.
Help people reach you
- Call to action: a bold band asking visitors to take the next step, like "Get a free quote", with a Main button. Show phone number adds your number from Business info.
- Form: a contact, quote or request form. Messages land in your inbox and your email. To set one up quickly, pick a ready-made form under Start from: Contact, Quote request, Appointment request, New client, Request a call, Catering or event inquiry or Job application. It replaces the form's questions and wording, so do it first. See Start from a ready-made form.
- Hours & location: your hours, address and a map, from Business info. Turn off Show map to leave the map out. See Business info and hours.
- Open today: a slim strip saying whether you're open right now, worked out from your hours. Choose Show address and Show phone number, and add a Button, like "Hours & directions".
- Service areas: the towns and neighborhoods you serve. For each Town or neighborhood, you can link Its page (optional): make a page for your busiest towns with the Town page template, or many at once with Town pages. A Note under the list can say, for example, that you travel farther for big jobs. See Add a page.
Connect other services
Most of these sections work with a service you already use. You paste a link or an ID, and that's it. You'll also find them under Integrations in the left menu. Products, and Booking set to This site, use our own add-ons instead.
- Booking: appointments booked on your own site with the Bookings add-on (set Booking service to This site), or with Calendly, Cal.com, Square Appointments or Acuity. See Take bookings on your site and Connect a booking calendar.
- Buy & pay: gift cards, deposits, donations or simple products with payment links. See Take payments with payment links.
- Products: your Products list with prices and Add to cart buttons, with the Online store add-on. When nothing is for sale is the line shown while there's nothing to buy. See Sell products with the online store.
- Order online: big buttons to your online ordering or delivery services. See Add online ordering buttons.
- Newsletter signup: collect email addresses with your email marketing service. See Newsletter signup.
- Video and Videos: YouTube or Vimeo videos that load when visitors press play. See Add a video.
- Podcast or audio: Spotify, Apple Podcasts, SoundCloud and MP3 recordings. See Add a podcast or audio.
- Social posts: posts and reels from your Facebook page or Instagram, which load when visitors press them. See Show Facebook and Instagram posts.
- Embed code: a form, widget or button from any other service, pasted as its embed code, or your own HTML, CSS and JavaScript, which AI can write for you. It runs in its own box, so it can't change the rest of your site. See Add embed code, or write your own.
Make a headline move
An Animated words section puts one short, bold message on your page and moves it when visitors scroll to it.
- Add an Animated words section.
- Under Effect, click one of the pictures. Use the arrows under the row to see more; the line under the row says what the chosen one does.
- Fill in the words it asks for, then check it in the preview.
Each effect asks only for the words it needs:
- Words before and Changing words (and optional Words after). The changing words take turns after the words before, a few times round, then stop on the first:
- Changing word slides each one in, like "Here for your home… family… business."
- Rolling word spins them past like a slot machine.
- Typed and retyped types each one, backspaces it and types the next.
- Split-flap board flips them in letter by letter, like an old airport departures board.
- Decode swap scrambles each one into the next.
- Lines, each starting on its own row:
- Word by word: Words rise in, Fly in, Pop in, Drop and bounce and Blur in bring the words in one after another. Word by word shows them faint, then lights them up in turn, as if someone were reading them aloud.
- Letter by letter: Typed out, Letter wave, Decode, Letters come together and Tracking in (letters spread far apart pull together, like a film title).
- Each line as a whole: Wipe in (a bar of color sweeps across), Zoom in, Outline fill (outlines that fill with color), Shine (a glint of light sweeps across), Neon sign (flickers on and glows; best on a dark background) and Sticker labels (each line a tilted label).
- Stacked lines: short lines slide in from both sides and lock together, each sized to fill the same width. One to three words a line works best.
- Across the whole page: Scrolling ribbon and Crossed ribbons (two tilted bands moving opposite ways) loop the lines like a news ticker, with a pause button. Moves as you scroll slides big lines sideways as visitors scroll the page; in browsers that can't do that, they stand still.
- A Sentence with the words to pick out wrapped in double stars, like
Fresh bread, **baked every morning**.:- Highlighted words gives them a highlight.
- Circled words draws a hand-drawn mark around them: choose A circle, An underline or A squiggle under Mark them with.
- Big word makes them grow much bigger than the rest.
- Price drop takes What it’s for, an Old price and a New price: the old price is crossed out, then the new one pops in. Replace the sample offer before you publish; the publish check reminds you.
Every effect except the ones that run across the whole page can add a Button, and Text position puts the words in the Center or on the Left. Short words make the biggest impression, so keep it to a few words. Visitors who turn off motion on their phone or computer see the words standing still, and screen readers read them as one sentence.
Can't find the section you need?
Ask for it in AI changes: describe what you want, see a price first, and pay only if you keep it. See AI changes. A section made for your site this way shows up in Add a section with the others. Not sure whether a section already does it? Click Help at the top of the editor and ask; see Get help.
Still stuck?
Try it on the live demo first; nothing you do there is saved. If you’d rather have a person do it, ask for a work request from your dashboard. You’ll get a quote before any work starts.
