Business info and hours
Update your business name, phone, email, hours, address and social links once, and see them change across your whole site.
Your business details live in one place. Change your phone number or hours once, and every spot that shows them updates: the header, the footer, your contact page and the details Google reads.
Open Business info
Click Business info in the left menu. From the top, the screen has Today, Announcement bar, Basics, Regular hours, Holidays and special hours, Seasonal hours, Location and Social links.
Close for today
Snowed in, sick, or closed for an emergency? The Today panel at the top shows what visitors see right now, like "Open now until 5pm", worked out from your hours, special dates and seasons.
- Click We’re closed today. Today is marked closed, and a "Closed" banner goes across the top of every page, saying when you open next if your hours show it.
- Click Publish.
The banner comes down by itself at the end of the day, and tomorrow your usual hours are back. Changed your mind? Click Undo “closed today” and publish again.
Announcement bar
The announcement bar is a thin banner across the top of every page. It's great for holiday hours, a closure or a seasonal offer.
- Turn on Show announcement, or click one of the Quick start messages to start from ready-made words: Holiday hours, Weather delay, Emergency service, Seasonal offer, Openings this week, Private event or Sold out.
- Type your Message, or change the ready-made one. Keep it short; there's room for 90 characters.
- Optional: in Links to (optional), pick a page so visitors can click through for details.
- Pick a Style: News for offers and updates, Alert for something urgent, or Closed for a closure.
- Optional: set Show from and Last day shown. The banner then goes up and comes down by itself. Leave both empty to show it now and keep it up until you turn it off.
- Click Publish.
When it's over, turn Show announcement off. Your message is kept for next time.
Fill in the basics
Under Basics:
- Business name: shown in your header (if you don't have a logo), in the footer and on Google.
- Tagline: one line about what you do. It appears in the footer and helps Google describe you.
- Phone: shown in your header and footer, and used by any button set to call you. On phones, visitors can tap it to call.
- Email: shown in your footer and on your contact page.
- Logo and Browser tab icon: see Theme and brand colors for tips on both. Without a logo, your business name is shown in your heading font.
- Show the business name next to the logo: appears once you add a logo. Turn it on if your logo doesn't spell out your name, or its lettering is too small to read in the header.
Type the phone number the way you'd like people to see it, like (828) 555-0142.
Set your hours
- Under Regular hours, find each day of the week.
- Use the switch to mark the day Open or Closed.
- For open days, set the opening and closing times. Open past midnight? Set the closing time to, say, 2:00 AM, and it counts as the same night.
- Same hours all week? Set Monday, then click Copy Monday to Tuesday–Friday.
- Check Time zone (Eastern, Central, Mountain, Arizona, Pacific, Alaska or Hawaii). It's how your site works out whether you're open right now.
- Add anything else in Note under hours, like "Evenings by appointment."
Each day has one opening and one closing time. If you close for lunch or open twice a day, set the full day's span and explain the break in Note under hours.
Your footer groups days with matching hours, like "Mon–Fri 8am – 5pm", so it stays short.
Turn off regular hours
If you work by appointment, online or from wherever your clients are:
- Under Regular hours, turn off We keep regular opening hours.
- Optional: write something like "Sessions by appointment" in Note under hours. It shows in the footer on its own.
- Click Publish.
Your site then leaves hours out everywhere, including the footer and the details search engines read. An Hours & location or Open today section has no hours to show, so a publish check asks you to hide it. Changed your mind? Turn the switch back on before you leave Business info, and your old hours come back. After that, turning it on starts you at Monday to Friday, 9 to 5.
Add holiday hours and closures
For a day (or a few days) that's different from usual, like a holiday, a staff day off or late opening for an event, use Holidays and special hours. Add them as far ahead as you like.
- Click Add a date.
- Type a Name, like "Thanksgiving" or "Inventory day".
- Pick the Date. For more than one day in a row, also pick the last day in Through (optional).
- Leave the switch on Closed, or turn it to Open and set that day's hours.
- Click Publish.
On your site, upcoming special dates (the next two months) are listed under Special hours in your Hours & location section, and "open now" follows them on the day. Google is told about them too, so your hours there can be right on the holiday. Once a date has passed, it drops off your site by itself; click Remove past dates to tidy the list.
Want a banner as well? Add one with the Announcement bar, and set its dates so it comes down after the holiday.
Set seasonal hours
If your hours change at the same time every year, like winter hours, summer Saturdays or closing for the season, set them once in Seasonal hours. They switch over by themselves every year.
- Click Add seasonal hours. A new season starts as "Winter hours", December 1 to February 28, with a copy of your regular hours.
- Change the Name. It's shown above your hours while the season is on, like "Winter hours" or "Closed for the season".
- Pick when it Starts and Ends (a month and a day). A season can run over New Year, like November 1 to March 31.
- Set the hours for each day of the week, the same way as your regular hours. Closed for the whole season? Click Closed every day this season.
- Click Publish.
The season that's on now is marked In effect now. While it's on, your footer, your Hours & location section, "open now" and Google all use its hours. Your Hours & location section also lists your other seasons, so visitors can plan ahead. Holidays and special hours still win on their own dates.
Location
- Fill in Street address, City, State and ZIP code.
- In Service area, list the towns or neighborhoods you serve. This helps you show up when people nearby search for what you do.
If customers don't come to you, you can leave Street address empty and fill in just the city and state. Your map then shows your town instead of a street.
Licensed trade? Add your License number, like "NC Landscape Contractor #4127-L". It's shown in your footer, as many states require.
Social links
Add your Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), Threads, Bluesky and Google Business Profile pages. Paste the link to your profile, or just type your name as it appears there, like @yourname. For Bluesky, that's your full name with its ending, like yourname.bsky.social. Leave any blank to hide it.
Filled-in links appear in your footer, and search engines are told they're yours. Before you publish, we check that each one goes to your own profile, not just the front page of the site.
Below them, the Leave-a-review link gives your Reviews sections a "Leave us a review" button, a short link to say or text, and a QR code to print. See Reviews.
Where your details show up
- Header: business name or logo, phone number.
- Footer: name, tagline, address, phone, email, hours, social links. Anything you leave blank is left out. To change how the footer is laid out, see Theme and brand colors.
- Hours & location section: whether you're open now, your hours (or this season's), upcoming special hours, your other seasons, hours note, address, phone, email, service area and a map. Add this section to any page. Its form only has a heading, an intro and a Show map switch, because everything else comes from here.
- Open today section: a slim strip saying whether you're open right now. Its switches Show address and Show phone number add those, and its Button starts as "Hours & directions", going to your contact page. Handy near the top of your home page.
- Contact form section: your phone and email, shown next to the form.
- Call to action section: your phone number, if Show phone number is on.
- Google: your name, hours, address, phone and social links are added to every page in the format search engines prefer. You can see exactly what they read under Search & sharing. See Search and sharing.
Tips
- Closed for a holiday? Add it under Holidays and special hours instead of changing your regular hours. It drops off by itself, so there's nothing to switch back.
- Keep your hours and address the same as your Google Business Profile. Matching details help your local search ranking.
- Click Publish when you're done. See Getting started.
