Add online ordering buttons
Send customers to your SpotOn, Toast, Square Online, Clover, DoorDash, ChowNow or Grubhub ordering page with big, clear buttons.
The Order online section is a bold band with a heading, a short intro and up to five large buttons. Each button opens your ordering page in a new tab, for example "Order pickup" or "Get delivery." Your ordering service handles the menu, checkout and payment. You don't need any code or API key.
The first button is solid and stands out most. Any others are outlined. Put the option you want people to choose first at the top.
What you need first
- An account with an ordering service, such as SpotOn, Toast, Square Online, Clover, DoorDash, ChowNow or Grubhub, with your menu already set up there.
- The link to your ordering page for each service you want to show.
Find your ordering link
The surest test for any service: open the link in a private browser window. If you see your menu as a customer would, it's the right link.
SpotOn
- Open your restaurant's SpotOn online ordering page as a customer would.
- Copy the address from your browser's address bar. It usually starts with
https://order.spoton.com/.
Toast
- Sign in to Toast Web and open your online ordering settings.
- Copy your online ordering link. It usually starts with
https://order.toasttab.com/online/.
Square Online
- Sign in to Square Online and open your site overview.
- Copy your site address (often ending in
.square.site), or the address of your ordering page.
Clover
- Sign in to your Clover dashboard and open Online Ordering.
- Copy your online ordering link (it contains
clover.com/online-ordering/).
DoorDash
- If you use DoorDash Storefront (ordering on your own link), copy your Storefront link from the DoorDash Merchant Portal.
- Otherwise, search for your restaurant on doordash.com, open your store page, and copy the address from your browser's address bar.
ChowNow
- Sign in to your ChowNow dashboard.
- Copy your direct ordering link (it contains
chownow.com).
Grubhub
- Search for your restaurant on grubhub.com and open your menu page.
- Copy the address from your browser's address bar.
Add the section
- From Integrations: click Integrations in the sidebar. On the Order online card, click Add to a page. Choose the page under Which page? and click Add and edit.
- From a page: open Pages, choose a page, and on the Content tab click Add a section. Pick Order online.
The section is added near the bottom of the page. Use the up and down arrows to move it. On a restaurant site, it often works best near the top of the home page.
Fill in the fields
- Heading and Intro: for example, "Order online" and "Pickup or delivery, ready when you are."
- Under Ordering links, open each sample link, or click Add link for a new one.
- Button text: what the button says, like "Order pickup" or "Order on DoorDash."
- Link: paste your ordering link. It should start with
https://.
To remove a button, click the trash icon next to it. To reorder buttons, use the up and down arrows.
Check it in the preview
The preview shows your buttons as visitors will see them. Buttons don't open inside the preview. Test them on your live site after you publish.
Publish
Click Publish at the top right. Your changes go live in about a minute. Then click View live site and press each button to make sure it opens the right ordering page.
Troubleshooting
Publish is blocked because a button "has no ordering link." That button's Link is empty. Paste your ordering link, or remove that button.
A button is missing. Buttons with no Button text are hidden. Type some text for it.
The checks warn that a button goes to the service's main website. You pasted a home page, like doordash.com. Copy the link to your own ordering page.
The link opens a login page. You copied a link from your own dashboard, which only you can use. Copy the customer-facing ordering link instead.
The link opens the wrong location. If you have more than one location, each has its own ordering link. Copy the one for this location, or add a button for each.
The link opens a search page instead of your menu. You copied a search results address. Click into your restaurant first, then copy the address.
What it costs
The Order online section is included in your plan. Your ordering service charges its own fees. Delivery apps usually take a commission on each order, and direct ordering often costs less. Check each service's pricing. We add nothing on top.
Moving from your old website
When we move your existing website over, your online ordering stays where it is. If your old site sent customers to SpotOn, Toast, ChowNow, DoorDash or another ordering service, your new site's order buttons go to the same ordering page, so you keep taking orders without changing anything. Your import notes say which service we found. If your old site showed ordering in a box we couldn't read, the notes ask you to paste your ordering link in an Order online section.
